Beautiful
Feet Our feet are the pedestal of our beauty. With chipped uneven nails, bunions, calluses, corns, heels that that make you inches taller, you can never be the flawless beauty all of us can be. We know your feet have a tough life: not only do they need to carry your weight around all day long through thousands (or tens of thousands) of steps, but they also are often confined in tight shoes and yet they are expected to look pretty! You know that for them to be pretty you have to take care of them. And itbetter be good care! But what if you are too busy to stop at your preferred spa for a full pedicure? Good news! You can have flawless feet by using our Home Spa recipes, right in the comfort of your home. Having perfect feet is simple and easy and doing your own holistic pedicure is sooooo pleasurable and self-healing!

Turn a pedicure into a healing time: do not skip the foot massage ( It's hard to be flawless, if you are not relaxed)

You can turn you Home Spa Pedicure into a very healing for you. How? By massaging your feet.
Why? Because on the sole of your feet, there are the reflex points for each and every one of your organs (for a total of 72000 nerve endings!). By simply massaging your feet, you stimulate all these reflex points, which are connected to all your organs and tissues and therefore stimulate and balance your entire body. The knowledge of the nature and use of reflex points on your feet is called Reflexology. You can see for yourself on the chart below which part of the foot is connected to what. Foot
MassageThe art ofReflexology can do a lot for you: relax, stimulate and balance by letting your body self-correct, through a simple (but precise) foot massage.

However, without knowing anything about the art of reflexology, you can already benefit from a simple intuitive massage of your feet. Just feel where tensions have accumulated and massage them away, by stroking and rubbing and pressing, gently and patiently. Use your intuition, sense your body and you will feel tremendously relaxed and good: it's almost like magic! The foot massage is step 4 of our natural holistic feet pedicure. Do not skip this step. You can adjust the length of the foot massage according to your schedule. Even if you are very busy, just perform a 2 min massage on each foot and you will already reap the benefits and wellbeing of your efforts.

The Flawless Feet pedicure

As with any of the Home Spa recipe, start with making sure that your cell phone is turned off and no one is going to disturb you during the time of your Home Spa treatment. Set a very relaxing and soothing ambiance with some soft music and light. Enjoy...

1. The relaxing bath

When tensions accumulate in your body, your feet are often one of their preferred targets. Remember how it feels to throw off your shoes and walk on a sand beach after a week of walking on concrete and hard floorsYou will get the same relaxation and feeling of wellbeing with this holistic pedicure. It starts with a simple footbath.

Prepare a footbath in a bathtub or in a basin with water. In the summer, use cold water and in the winter use warm water. Essential oils provide a fabulous and effective way to give your feet a treat they deserve.

Relaxing Footbath recipe:

  • 1 bath of water
  • 1 tbsp of salt
  • 1/2 cup of Green Clay
  • 4 drops of your favorite essential oils
  • soak for 15 min
Essential oils for your feet:
  • Peppermint: refreshing
  • Lavender or Chamomile: for tired or swollen feet
  • Geranium: strengthens the skin and improves elasticity
Directions: soak your feet for 10-15 min. while enjoying a relaxing music and some herbal tea or green tea.

2. The art of smoothing and trimming

Finger
Nail AnatomyIt's easier to cut and file nails after the footbath. To avoid ingrown nails, cut nails straight across to just above the skin. Make sure your nail doesn't extend over the tip of your toe. To get a soft square shape, file nails in one direction until they are even & slightly rounded at the corners. Gently push the cuticles back with an orangewood stick in a circular motion and trim them out with a cuticle nipper (only on top of the nail, don't touch the skin!).

Hard skin build up on the feet can cause pain later and should be tackled as soon as it starts to appear. After the relaxing bath, use a wet Pumice stone, a natural volcanic rock to smooth away hard skin and prevent buildup.

Directions: Rub the pumice stone all over the foot, paying particular attention to the sides of the feet, the ball and heel. Rub coarse salt all over your feet and rinse.

3. Hydrosol solace

Dry your feet and spray them with a refreshing organicFloral Water to prepare them for the next step. I would recommend Witch Hazel (to improve circulation) or Lavender (for rejuvenation). Let the floral water mist dry.

4. The Flawlessly Healing Foot Massage

Shea butter is very moisturizing, soothing and nourishing. It is perfect for foot care! Massage your feet with either organic pure Shea butter, organic Shea butter with Rosewood or organic Shea butter lotion. I love the Shea butter with Rosewood as it is intensely refreshing and relaxing for me!

Directions: Sit down and place one foot on top of the opposite knee. Put a nut size of Shea butter or lotion and gently massage it in. Then, move each toe right and left, rotate and pull. Pinch the heel several times to "wake it up" and massage the whole foot from the toes to the heel. Insist on the sole with your fist. Massage the Achilles' heel from bottom up to stimulate the lymph circulation.

5. Strengthen and embellish your nails

The beauty and strength of your nails is an indication of your health. If your nails are soft, layering or breaking or simply lack natural shine; they need extra care. Instead of using artificial and chemical strengthening nail polish, go natural! Opt for organic Perilla oil which provides a powerful and efficient natural nail strengthening treatment because of its deep nourishment and protective action. Massage a little bit of oil on each of your toenails until it is absorbed.

At this point, you can choose to put color nail polish or just leave your nails natural. If you choose to put nail polish, make sure that you choose a brand which doesn't have any toxic phthalates in it. Remove any excess oil with nail polish remover (including the one you just rubbed on your cuticles). Apply 2 coats of your favorite nail polish in 3 strokes: 1 in the middle and 1 on each side. Clean up any error with an orangewood stick wrapped with a cotton dipped in nail polish remover. After the nail polish has dried out, rub a little bit of Perilla oil to moisturize your cuticles and set the nail polish.

Et Voila! You're Flawless
Enjoy this feeling of the most flawless your feet can be and the deep feeling of wellbeing and relaxation.
